Douglas L. Adams, Jr. has been practicing law in Kansas since 1993. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals, 10th Circuit. A graduate of Kansas University School of Law in 1993, Doug currently serves as the Criminal Justice Administration Panel Representative for the District of Kansas in the United States District Court. Prior to joining Richard Ney in 1996 at the time of this law firm´s formation, he served as an Assistant Public Defender from 1994 to 1996. Doug is an active litigator who has spent his entire career dedicated to the zealous and relentless pursuit of liberty and fairness for individuals who are unfortunate enough to have been accused of crimes.
His legal experience includes numerous jury trials in city, state and federal court. Representative cases Doug has handled include drug cases, violent felonies and misdemeanors, virtually every property crime imaginable, and white collar crimes such as tax fraud, bank fraud and counterfeiting. Doug has assisted in training law enforcement officers at speaking engagements and has given several presentations before local organizations and groups on various criminal law related topics.
Doug was born in Kansas City, Missouri in 1969 and holds a Bachlor of Arts degree from the University of Kansas in English (1991) and earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Kansas (1993).
He is married and is the father of a son and daughter. He keeps active when not practicing law, enjoying time playing racquetball, working out at the YMCA, and reading.
